Youth Meeting. (3rd Post)

On the Saturday morning my first task weas to visit the family of a young Pakistani Christian called Saleem who I had become great friends with in South Africa. He had insisted I should meet his family so on the Friday morning I travelled across Lahore to meet his father Siddique, his mother, three brothers and sister. Why as it special? I don't know but it must be simply because they welcomed me like a long lost member of their own family and by the end I truly felt like that too.

In fact I enjoyed their company so much I invited my friends brother in law, Marcus, a pastor in his own right and his father to our evening youth meeting. Marcus in the centre would share his experiences of youth outreach to Muslims.

The youth meeting getting moving! I had spoken on the verse.. "When the Enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord shall raise up a standard against him". I encouraged them that even in difficult circumstances the Lord will always raise the standard of His word and His truth for His children to look to, gather around, and move forward behind.

Lots of hugging

and dancing!

We closed with a testimony from Mr Siddique. He grew up in the rural areas and was baking bricks which is one of the lowest jobs. He then came to Lahore and managed to get a job as a driver for the Ministry of Agriculture so that people now salute him (well actually ..the car and minister) wherever he goes!

The youth meeting was a great success especially with the contributions of Marcus and Siddique. Gods spirit really touched us all.

Yaqoob plans to start some youth outreach projects to encourage the young people to reach out to other Christians and Muslims too.
